Mismatched Pattern

Installing patterned carpets can be done using any of the installation methods, direct glue-down, stretch over pad, or double stick. Because carpet is a fabric, the stretch over pad method allows for more accuracy in matching the pattern but perfect pattern match in any installation method may be impossible. Installing patterned carpet requires more experience and time, therefore, it is more expensive than installation of other non-patterned carpeting. Each manufacturer publishes their own standards for installing their patterned carpeting, and these must be followed for the best results. The pattern sizes and repeats are generally represented on each product sample so that a correct yardage estimate can be calculated.
