Tufted carpet continues to be the most popular method of carpet manufacturing for both commercial and residential uses. Over 90% of all carpet is manufactured by the tufting process. It is the most economical and versatile method of manufacturing.
Tufting utilizes hundreds of needles mounted on a bar that extends across the width of the loom. Yarn is threaded through the needles that are then pushed through a backing material and withdrawn to form loops. Tufted carpets are available in loop pile, cut pile or cut-uncut constructions.
