Polyester is a fiber-forming, thermoplastic synthetic polymer. Polyester is offered in both bulked continuous filament (BCF) and staple fibers, but is used more in the staple form today. Although polyester can be used in commercial carpets, it is primarily used in residential products. Polyester is noted for its luxurious hand, colorfastness and color clarity. It is resistant to water-soluble stains. Polyester has much poorer durability than nylon.
